"When, —if ever, —you leave New Orleans for that place you used to call home... you only know it was swell, whether it was the drinks that created the city or the city that created the drinks."

-Robert Kinney, The Bachelor in New Orleans

This two hour walking tour takes place on the outskirts of the French Quarter, away from Bourbon Street. This tour isn't for the Spring Break crowd, but it's perfect for those of us that enjoy a good cocktail. If anyone shows up with a Hand Grenade Drink, or a real hand grenade for that matter, you'll be sent to Bubba Gump Shrimp Company without a refund.

You'll see places instrumental in the birth of Jazz AND Rock and Roll. We'll visit historic St. Louis Cemetery Number One which is the setting for the acid dropping scene in Easy Rider and is also 'home' to "The Mozart of Chess", "The Father of American Architecture", New Orleans' first black mayor, a Voodoo Queen or two, soldiers from the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World War I, and the inventor of Craps. We'll even see where New Orleans' red light district used to stand. After all that we'll wander back to the start for another drink or we'll point you to the oldest bar in the U.S... on Bourbon Street.

Your tour includes one free drink at Bar Tonique, our starting point. You can choose from the following:
